What beginners get wrong in Italian

Learning the noun without its article

Italian has il, lo, la and l', and the first sound of the word decides which: lo zaino, lo stivale, l'orso. Every sheet prints the article, so pupils learn it with the word.

Plurals that change

Some nouns change gender or ending in the plural: l'uovo becomes le uova, il braccio le braccia, la mano le mani. They are worth learning with the noun.

Capital letters on days and months

Italian writes lunedì and gennaio in lower case. The sheets print them that way, and months without an article, as Italian uses them.
