What beginners get wrong in Korean
Older brother and sister depend on who speaks
A boy calls his older brother 형 and his older sister 누나; a girl says 오빠 and 언니. The family sheets give the English for each, so pupils learn which is theirs.
Reading romanization letter by letter
Revised Romanization spells the sound, not the letters: 따뜻해요 is ttatteutaeyo, and 월요일 is woryoil. Hangul is the word; the romanization only helps with saying it.
Two irregular months
June is 유월, not 육월, and October is 시월, not 십월. The sheets print the forms Koreans write.
Korean numbers, native and Sino-Korean, with a printable chart and worksheet generator, are on our sister site Numbers in Korean.
