Spanish: 16 to 29 are one word
From 16 to 29 Spanish writes each number as one word, several with an accent: dieciséis, veintidós, veintitrés. From 31 the tens and units are joined by y: treinta y uno.
French: 70, 80 and 90 are built from smaller numbers
France counts 70 as soixante-dix (sixty-ten), 80 as quatre-vingts (four twenties) and 90 as quatre-vingt-dix. 21, 31 and the others up to 71 take et: vingt et un.
In the classroom
Numbers bingo works for any class size: print a different card for every pupil, call the figures in any order from the caller cards, and pupils cross out the word. A fresh set of cards is one click, so the same game works again next week.
